Caption: The Gambrinus Company is promoting Corona Light as "miles away" from the import competition. The company reports that total sales for Corona Light grew by about 1.2 million eases in 2002, 850,000 of which were sold by Gambrinus. "We enjoyed tremendous retailer enthusiasm and consumer response following the expansion of our Corona Light efforts last year. "says Don Mann, Modelo Group director. "The 'miles away from other light beers' campaign works because it presents light beer consumers with a truly unique alternative. "Mann said Corona Light will be supported by an $8 million advertising campaign beginning in May and running through July. The effort will include two new TV spots, new radio spots and outdoor advertising in some markets.
