A-B invites consumers to try same-day Budweiser - Weekly Micro/Import Beer Report - Anheuser-Busch - Brief Article

Modern Brewery Age, May 13, 2002

Budweiser designated May 8th as "Freshness Day," offering millions of adult consumers across the U.S. an opportunity to taste Budweiser packaged the same day.

Select retailers in 180 cities (see attached list) offered Budweiser long-necks packaged May 8th bearing the "Born On" date of "08 MAY 02," allowing consumers to try the freshest beer available. Budweiser trucks picked up beer packaged the morning of May 8th at one of Anheuser-Busch's 12 U.S. based breweries, and delivered it to company wholesalers that serve the 180 cities. The distributors then delivered the "day-fresh" Budweiser to select retail accounts for consumers to taste.

A-B says it takes approximately 30 days to brew Budweiser, so this process began about April 8.
