Summer Ale returns

Modern Brewery Age, May 9, 2005

The Boston Beer Co. has released its Summer Ale once again. The beer is inspired by a Belgian recipe, and is notable for its use of a West African spice called "Grains of Paradise." According to the company, this "adds a peppery citrus note to the brew, which enhances the tangy taste of lemon peel and floral notes of tropical fruits, including mangoes and peaches, that derive from the fermentation." Summer Ale will be available in six-packs, 12-packs and cases through mid-September. Suggested price is $6.99-$7.99 a six-pack.
