The check is the initial deposit to the Breitbard Legacy Endowment, a fund for the growth and maintenance of the Hall of Champions, a museum dedicated to outstanding athletic accomplishment and San Diego's local sports heroes. Local business leaders, including Ron Fowler, chairman and CEO of Mesa Distributing Co., raised the funds for the endowment. "We want to make sure the Hall can go on," Fowler said.
