ASBC meeting begins June 11 in Savannah, GA

The American Society of Brewing Chemists (ASBC) annual meeting will be held June 11-15, 2005 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Savannah, Georgia. In addition to seven technical sessions and 24 poster presentations, meeting highlights include:

* Keynote speaker Charlie Papazian, one of the most prominent and recognized names in the world of beer and brewing, will present Thoughts on Flavor and Diversity--Food and Beer.

* A taste session will feature a discussion of tequila manufacturing processes and follow with a comparative tasting and descriptive analysis of tequila.

* Three workshops will address the latest industry issues. Critical Issues Facing Your Growing Brewery; A Journey in Brewing-Continuous Learnings as Captured in Fishbone Diagrams; and Sensory Threshold Testing.

* A "Hot Topics" Forum and Seminar will provide an opportunity to review current issues facing the industry. Emerging trends and policies in the brewing and allied industries will also be discussed.

* A pre-meeting short course, Brewing Chemometrics, will be taught by Karl Siebert at the Hyatt on June 11.
