Modern Brewery Age, July 9, 2001

The Eight Annual "Great Northeast' International Beer Festival will be held on November 10th at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, RI.

Over 200 brewers from around the world will pour beer at the event. In addition, there will be 85 exhibitors of various beer-related merchandise.

In the past, organizers report that the festival has drawn over 3000 beer enthusiasts.

The day prior to the festival, brewers are invited to participate in the Fifth Annual Great Northeast Beer & Cider Competition, held at the Trinity Brew House in Providence. The private judging will place November 9th, with announcement of the winners taking place on the festival floor the next day.

Over 30 professional beer judges have been retained to taste beers for the competition. The chief judge is Gregg Glaser, certified beer judge and columnist for Modern Brewery Age.

Those with questions about the competition can call Gregg at 203-834-0800. For questions about the festival, call Maury Ryna at 401-272-0980.
