New PET bottles

Modern Brewery Age, July 21, 2003

Graham Packaging Co. of York, PA, has developed mono-layer PET bottles that are said to be suitable for oxygen-sensitive beverages. The bottles are made from a resin using BP's oxygen-scavenging Amosorb DFC additive, Unlike more costly barrier technologies, the Amosorb is blended with the PET resin prior to molding.

The company says that coating technologies can also be applied to the bottles to protect against light.
