Kirby Shyer knighted by Belgian Brewers Guild

Modern Brewery Age, Sept 5, 2005

Kirby Shyer of InBev USA has been named a Knight of Honor by the Chevalier du Fourquet des Brasseurs, part of the medieval Belgian Brewers guild. The induction ceremony took place in Brussels, Belgium, on September 2.

Shyer is only the 10th American to receive this honor and one of only 100 or so non-Belgian recipients in the past 50 plus years. Shyer is now the manager of the InBev USA Beer Academy. He started with InBev in 1997, marketing Belgian brands. In that post, he was instrumental in the NYC launch of Stella Artois in 1999.
