A group of New England Anheuser-Busch wholesalers

Modern Brewery Age, Oct 9, 2000

A group of New England Anheuser-Busch wholesalers joined with executives from the brewery to organize a golf tournament to benefit the Jimmy Fund of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Jim Sadowsky, president of Williams Distributing, Springfield, MA, Mike Brooks, vice president of sales for Anheuser-Busch and Tim Brown, sales director--region one, Anheuser-Busch, display a giant check symbolizing the monies raised.

"The concept behind the golf tournament was to provide a non-business environment where brewery and wholesaler personnel could get together for a relaxed day of golf for the benefit of charity." Mr. Sadowsky said. "The Jimmy Fund was the logical recipient, since it is the favorite charity of the Boston Red Sox and also provides a world-class cancer research program. Over $40,000 was donated to the Jimmy Fund on behalf of A-B's New England wholesalers and our brewery partner. Based on the positive response of those who attended, it's likely that this will become an annual event."
