Modern Brewery Age, Oct 8, 2001

Boulevard Brewing Company of Kansas City, MO, has rolled out its annual fall seasonal beer, Bob's '47 Munich-Style Lager. "The annual release of Bob's 47, our only lager beer, is much anticipated by a legion of fans," said Liz Olivarez of Boulevard. "It's a malty, full-bodied lager that is dark amber in color and is made using only the traditional ingredients-Amerian two-row pale malk, European specialty malts, a variety of U.S.

and European whole cone hops and a special strain of lager yeast." Boulevard originally made the beer as a tribute to past generations of brewers, most especialty their late mentor and friend, Bob Werkowitch, former brewmaster for Kansas City's Muehlebach Brewery and a graduate of the U.S. Brewers' Academy, Class of 1947. Boulevard beers are sold throughout Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Oklahoma, Arkansas, South Dakoto, Wyoming and parts of Illinois.
