Miller lawsuit says Jordanian form owes fees - Miller Brewing Co. suing Middle East Int'l Investments Group - Brief Article

Modern Brewery Age, Oct 8, 2001

According to a report in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, Miller Brewing Co. is suing a Jordanian company, claiming it owes more than $750,000 in overdue licensing fees for brewing and selling Genuine Draft and other Miller products in the Middle East. Miller also says that the company, Middle East Int'l Investments Group, shipped beer to several countries outside its authorized sales territory. That includes Libya, which is subject to a U.S. embargo for its links to terrorism.

The lawsuit also accuses the Jordanian company of selling Genuine Draft illegally over the Internet; disclosing Miller's confidential recipes to outsiders; failing to maintain the beer's quality; and using inferior bottles.
