"Beer Neck" is designed as extra hand to hold beer bottle - from Motivational Creations - Brief Article

Modern Brewery Age, Dec 16, 2002

Motivational Creations has developed what it calls "a new line of convenient drinking gadgets that is changing the way consumers enjoy battle and can beverages...for the better." The patented and trademarked products are called BeerNeck and BevNeck.

"Regardless of what can or bottled beverage you drink, our products will make it more enjoyable," says inventor Curt Silbert.

Silbert says the idea came to him when he was loading his boat in 1998, and his girlfriend adamantly told him to "hold his own beer!"

Faced with a situation that required a third hand, Silbert says he attached the boat key lanyard to a neoprene bottle jacket and the BeerNeck concept was born. It would be another three years until the product was finalized, complete with a patented bottle opener and resealable cap combination.

Silbert labels his concept "Drinking Freedom." "It's truly a liberating feeling to not have to worry about spilling, breaking, misplacing or holding one's bottle of beer or root beer," he says.

BeerNeck was featured in the September issue of MAXIM Magazine.

Silbert reports that a number of breweries including the Flying Dog Brewing Company (Denver, CO) have expressed interest in the product.
