Caption: BridgePort Brewing Company, of Portland, OR, introduced its latest product, Pintail Ale, to on-premise accounts and store shelves in mid-January. "We're pleased to add another high-quality ale to our portfolio," said Karl Ockert, brewmaster for BridgePort Brewing. "This is the flavor you'd expect from Bridgeport, and we believe it will appeal to the new audience of craft beer drinkers." Ockert noted that Pintail Ale takes its name from the Pintail duck that is indigenous to the Northwest region. "Pintail is deep golden in color," Ockert continued. "It's a refreshing beer that satisfies the palate with a mild bitterness, medium body and a smooth tart finish. It is the characteristic of the wheat that gives the beer its tart finish, lighter mouthfeel and sturdy white head." The ale's packaging focuses on the Pintail imagery, with italic type and copper-color edging to give the packages a retro aspect. The Bridgeport Ales, now including Pintail, are distributed in seven western states; Oregon, Washingto n, Idaho, Montana, Alaska, Colorado and Northern California.
