Modern Brewery Age, March 4, 2002
For the sixth consecutive year Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery will conduct a national rollout for its specialty brew, Fire Chief Ale. The company says the brand will be used as a fund-raising device and tribute to firefighters across the nation.
Proceeds from the sale of Fire Chief Ale from Feb. 21 to March 11, the six-month anniversary of the terrorist attacks--will benefit local fire departments or related charities in each of 29 communities where Rock Bottom has a brewery. A portion of funds also will go to the FDNY Widows' and Children's Fund.
"This is the sixth year we are staging such a national event, which holds even more meaning this year in light of the Sept. 11th tragedies that took the lives of so many local heroes," said Marilyn Davenport, Rock Bottom director of marketing.
