Industry: Email Alert RSS FeedSiebel running "brewtemps" program in Japan
Modern Brewery Age, April 14, 1997
To help these fledgling Japanese brewers, the Siebel Institute of Technology in Chicago has begun a "brewtemp" program to match up trained American brewers with needy Japanese breweries.
Experienced Siebel alums interested in temporary work in Japan can choose from a roster if interested Japanese breweries. Siebel will handle the employment contract, with salaries estimated as competitive with U.S. rates.
Under the arrangement, salaries will be paid in dollars, and deposited directly into the brewer's account in the U.S., with a portion of the salary paid in Yen directly to the brewer. Visa requirements and housing will be taken care of by Siebel and the host brewery.
