Local distributor provides truck to area fire department

A long-time need of the St. Louis Fire Department was filled with the donation of a refurbished Budweiser delivery truck by Grey Eagle Distributors, the St. Louis County Anheuser-Busch distributor.

The vehicle was presented to St. Louis Fire Chief Neil Svetanics by Grey Eagle president, Jerry Clinton, and vice president, Jeffrey Clinton.

The 10-bay truck was reconditioned by the distributor and painted the traditional "fire engine" red. Its purpose is to carry oxygen tanks which are used by the department while fighting fires.

"We needed a truck with separate bays to keep air tanks from rolling around inside," explained Svetanics. "With this vehicle, we can be assured that we have an adequate supply of serviceable air tanks for firefighters no matter how long they must be on the scene."

"We had a 10-bay truck that we moved up in our replacement schedule and are pleased to be able to make a contribution which will further enhance the safety of those who protect us," Clinton said.
