> Port Newark Container Terminal (PNCT) opened in Port Newark, N.J. The international, multi-user container facility is a joint venture of P&O Nedlloyd and P&O Ports, and has a 30-year lease with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. When complete in June 2003 PNCT will accommodate super post-panamax vessels with state-of-the-art cranes and straddle carriers and advanced terminal management systems.
