Chateau Julian 1995 Monterey County Grand Reserve Merlot, $10 suggested, needs some time in a cool cellar. If no cellar is available, a cool closet will do. This Merlot will age--the winery suggested about eight years. That's ok by me, since it does seem to need a bit more time. The oak is American and so are the tannins. Tasted in October.
