Anderson Valley

Wines & Vines, Jan, 2000 by Philip E. Hiaring

Lots of us like Husch wines, especially the Chardonnay The 1998, from Mendocino, has the cliche pale gold color and is crisp--crisp, I tell you! on the] palate. It is not a flabby oak bomb like too many Chardonnays. The Anderson Valley fruit lent its crisp, malic character while the Ukiah fruit coughed up more body and richness.

It's barrel fermented. Try with swordfish, sans sauce, or broiled chicken. Tasted 11/99.
