Israeli winery hires Zelma Long

Wines & Vines, Jan, 2003

Zelma Long, recently retired president and CEO of Sonoma's Simi Winery, has been hired as a special consultant by Israel's Golan Heights Winery. Long will assist the 20-year-old winery to improve its winemaking and production, and will concentrate exclusively on red varieties. Golan Heights recently released its first Pinot noir, Yarden 1999 Pinot noir (total production, 600 cases).
