The California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance (CSWA) received one of the 2004 Governor's Environmental and Economic Leadership Awards (GEELA) presented in December by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, in the category of environmental and economic partnerships. CSWA is the educational nonprofit formed by Wine Institute and the California Association of Winegrape Growers.
