Froggie bags?

Wines & Vines, March, 2004

Froggie Bags? As reported in this month's WorldBeat (page 14), a Paris bistro has introduced "doggie bags" for wine, so diners can take home their liquid leftovers. The bags were brought in to discourage driving under the influence, but the concept hasn't quite caught on with the locals. According to an article in The New York Times, most of the restaurant's French patrons were disgusted by the idea of wine doggie bags.

As one bistro-goer scoffed, "People with the leftovers of their bottle--this is truly provincial."
