Concentrate market favorable for 2005

Wines & Vines, July, 2005

The annual Grape Juice Trade Profile reports that the concentrate market improved in 2004, and the outlook is good for 2005. Last year, 658,048 tons of grapes were crushed for concentrate production, representing 18% of the total crush, compared with a 2003 total of 506,877, 15% of the crush. However, in 2004 the value of concentrate imports increased 79% to just over $69 million.

The profile is compiled for the California Association of Winegrape Growers (CAWG) with sponsorship from Allied Grape Growers, and is available to their members. Visit cawg.org or alliedgrapegrowers.org for details.
