Pacific Northwest AVAs [American Viticultural Areas] proposed

Wines & Vines, Sept, 2003

Two new American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) are under consideration by the federal Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB). The first is McMinnville, in Yamhill County, Oregon. Only vineyards within the elevations of 200 to 800 feet would be included. The second is Colombia Gorge, which would encompass 280 square miles straddling the Columbia River in Oregon and Washington.
