Cooper Mountain seeks carbon neutrality

Wines & Vines, Sept, 2008

Cooper Mountain Vineyards, a 17,000-case per year producer in Beaverton, Ore., plans to be certified carbon neutral early next year. Having inventoried its carbon emissions, the winery plans to reduce vehicle fuel use, use biodiesel and renewable or solar energy, retrofit electric outlets and continue employee education on conservation.

Next it will purchase carbon offsets and request certification from the Climate Registry (climateregistry.org). Cooper Mountain is certified both organic and Biodynamic.
