PSS World Medical, Inc., Jacksonville, Fla., through its wholly owned subsidiary Physician Sales and Services (PSS), has acquired Salt Lake City-based Physician Supply Co., a privately owned distributor to physicians with annual revenues of approximately $7 million. PSS president and CEO Gene Dell said the acquisition of Physician Supply is a good fit with PSS's branch in Salt Lake City. Physician Supply owner Dick Dorius said the merger with PSS gives the company greater resources, including a comprehensive product portfolio, sales training and increased leverage within the industry. The transaction, he said, "is going to be beneficial to everyone involved."
