ITS Intertek Services, Boxborough, Mass., the first accredited ISO 9000 registrant in the country, has certified Collins Medical Inc. to ISO 9001, affirming that the company's Braintree, Mass. manufacturing operation adheres to the internationally recognized quality standard. Collins Medical manufacturers pulmonary and cardiopulmonary stress testing equipment. Only 10% of U.S. manufacturing operations have registered their quality systems to ISO 9001. Collins director of marketing Cosimo Cariolo said the company sought ISO 9001 certification to improve the company's global competitiveness. The company designs, manufacturers and markets instrumentation used n the measurement of pulmonary function and cardiopulmonary stress testing in the diagnosis and management of respiratory diseases.
