Orthofix International, New York - internal lengthening systems development and service agreement with Orthodyne - Company Business and Marketing

Orthofix International, New York, has entered an agreement with Orthodyne, Inc., Orlando, to complete development and service as the exclusive marketer of Orthodyne's Intramedullary Skeletal Kinetic Distractor (ISKD), a patented internal lengthening systems used on arms and legs of unequal length. The ISKD system uses a telescoping tubular structure implanted in the patient's limb, similar to the Orthofix Intramedullary Nail for bone fractures. Orthofix has established distributors in more than 80 countries and has distribution agreements with such companies as Sulzer Medica Group, Sofamor Danek Group, Kendall Health Products and B. Braun, of Germany. The current market potential for the system is estimated to be $60 to $75 million worldwide.
