PSS World Medical, Inc., Jacksonville, Fla., acting through a wholly owned subsidiary, has concluded a pair of acquisitions of privately held nursing home distributors.
PSS' subsidiary Gulf South Medical Supply, Inc. has acquired Dayton, Ohio-based National Med Supply, Inc., and Birmingham, Ala.-based Medical Specialized Systems, LTD. Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.

Gulf South Medical Supply divisions chief executive officer Todd M. LaVelle said the transactions were designed to increase PSS' market penetration while adding $20 million to its revenue base in addition to adding 15 sales representatives.
