Success of initial Mexican trade show prompts organizer to promote another - Messe Dusseldorf North America - Brief Article

Health Industry Today, May, 2001

Messe Dusseldorf North America, an organizer of medical trade shows around the world, said the March staging of its first exhibition in Mexico was successful enough to warrant scheduling another for spring 2002.

HOSPIMEDICA MEXICO 2001, an international trade show for medical products, equipment and services, was held in Leon, Mexico. It attracted 106 exhibitors from 14 countries and what the organizer termed more than 2,000 "highly qualified" attendees.

Messe Dusseldorf said the figures met its expectations and confirmed the need for a medical trade fair in the region.

Manufacturers displayed products and equipment over 12,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space in the Poliforum Exhibition Center. Of the 106 companies represented, 38 were from outside the U.S. and Mexico.

The organizers said a pair of congresses complemented and supported exhibitors at the event--a workshop program organized by the International Hospital Federation and a seminar program presented jointly by the Secretary of Health for the State of Guanajuato, Mexico, the University of Guanajuato and the University of Miami.

Messe Dusseldorf said the events helped attract the qualified audience and plans similar programs for the 2002 show.
