Palomar Medical Technologies - Cosmetic Technologies International division signed contract with EquiMed Inc

Palomar Medical Technologies, Beverly, Mass., said that its Cosmetic Technologies International division has signed a definitive master agreement with EquiMed, a national physician practice management company specializing in oncology and ophthalmology services. The contract calls for the installation of Palomar's full suite of cosmetic lasers at all 80 of EquiMed's wholly owned ophthalmology and surgery centers.

Revenues will be shared evenly between the two companies. During the third quarter, a pilot program will be instituted in six targeted EquiMed centers throughout the country, after which the program will be rolled out to the remainder of EquiMed's approximately 50 targeted centers in 1997. Palomar's Epilaser[TM], which has just received FDA clearance for certain dermatological procedures, will be among the Palomar products available at the EquiMed centers.
