Carl Stahl - X-tend, steel wire mesh - Brief Article
Architectural Review, The, April, 2001
X-tend, a balustrade system of stainless steel wire mesh tensioned between a stainless steel cable framework, is suitable for bridges, ramps and staircases. The mesh is spaced between 60 and 80mm apart to give a transparent appearance. It can be tensioned to form curves or to create tent-like structures such as the new Leopard House at Cologne Zoo.
The jacob inox Line is an elegant system of stainless steel wire and interconnecting bolts which can be used on a facade to retain and secure climbing plants.
