Beta lighting - Specifier's information - Brief Article - Product Announcement

Architectural Review, The, Nov, 2001

Literal high-light of the Fishergate Shopping Centre in Preston, England is a 4.1 m diameter double ring made by Beta Lighting. The upper ring houses four curved cold cathode tubes each nearly 1.5m long. These are interspersed with 150w HIT downlights.

The lower ring carries 150w HIT and 26w TC-TEL downlights. Mesh tubing filters the central light, which is reflected back from the 960mm diameter reflector above. Architects DLG & Partners of Leeds commissioned Beta to manufacture the bespoke luminaire.
