> A new 12-storey office and 6-storey hotel complex near Dusseldorf. Germany, has a double-skin facade, It was designed by architect Schneider Schumacher. The external skin has side-hung windows of l2 or 15mm toughened glass, power-operated to open to a maximum of 300 mm. The internal skin consists of 250mm wide storey-high vents, 1.1 m wide storey-high maintenance windows and facade corridors lined with louvre blinds.
