Fosroc is a leading manufacturer of specialist chemicals for construction. Ebonex, a discrete anode system, has been used by civil engineers for a major Austrian road bridge refurbishment project. The Lieserschulucht road bridge carries the main motorway from northern Europe to Italy over a river in mountainous Carinthia. Over the years de-icing salts had leaked onto sup porting concrete cross-beams, corroding the reinforcing steelwork. Ebonex discrete anodes were installed into the body of the reinforced concrete structure, they should provide protection for at least 20 years.
