Developed by Finnish company Tonester, Durat[R] is a solid polyester-based material which is suitable for interior surfaces such as worktops, display counters and bar-tops; coherent jointless surfaces many metres in length can be produced, with various forms of edge design and intarsia patterns. It can be moulded into shapes to integrate worktops with wash basins and to produce coordinated bath tubs and stools. The material contains 50 per cent recycled plastics and is itself 100 per cent recyclable. It is available in 46 standard colours.
