Architectural Review, The, March, 2003

The Danish architectural hardware manufacturer, d line, with SALTO, the Spanish electronic access control specialist, has developed a new concept; a minimal door lever design combined with advanced electronic access control management system. The system, which uses smart cards or Buttons, is designed to deal with security and access requirements of hotels, schools, universities, hospitals. offices and other buildings. A high level of security is achieved by using chip cards rather than magnetic strip cards. and by fitting all decision-making electronics on the inside of the door so that they are completely protected. The system requires no wiring and can be used on new and existing building projects.
