Good Day at Black Rock - Browser

Architectural Review, The, Oct, 2003

It's a bit like a really gentle, ritualized version of Mad Max, the annual Burning Man which this year had 25 000 people turning up to groove on a dried out lakebed outside Black Rock City 120 miles north of Reno, Nevada. What started out as a nice, small, hippy sort of happening is now, like the English Glastonbury music festival, bureaucratized and ticketized. Still, as at Glastonbury, nice things happened at Black Rock early last month, a great experiment in temporary communitarianism which you can check out at www.burningman.com.
