Mixed emotion - Letters - Letter to the Editor
Architectural Review, The, Oct, 2003 by A.G. Gauta
SIR: I was disappointed with the coverage of 'Mixed Use' in your September issue. Mixed use is surely the way we should be considering all approaches to the city and urban living. As your leader writer says, 'the key to successful mixed-use development depends on what might be allowed to happen, rather than prescribing what should happen'.
This is a tall order for a magazine, with its fixed size and number of pages, to illustrate in a compelling, or even comprehensible, way. But Cedric Price could do it, and the pages were impoverished without his contribution. Even here, we have heard of his sad death. The world is a less lively and stimulating place without him.
Yours etc
