Entries to the Design for the Emerging World awards (for buildings and projects as yet unbuilt) are welcome from the Middle East, South and Central America, Asia (South, Central and East) and Australasia (excluding Japan, Australia and New Zealand). The awards will be judged in six categories: commercial, residential, leisure, masterplanning, mixed-use and community projects. There will also be an environmental award for outstanding ingenuity in energy design.

Entries will be judged on their invention and imagination, and on their contribution to the welfare of people and the planet and context. The Jury will be George Ferguson (President of the RIBA), Suha Ozkan (Aga Khan Awards), Ali Shuaibi (Saudi Arabia), Ken Yeang (Malaysia), Raj Rewal (India) and Peter Davey (Editor of The Architectural Review).

Entries should consist of two A2 boards with an entry form (available at www.cityscapeonline.com, or call Jo Roberts: +44 (0) 20 7505 6745). Entries should be sent by 31 October to Cityscape Architectural Review Awards, IIR Exhibitions, PO Box 21743, Dubai, UAE.

The jury will meet in early November, and the awards will be presented at a ceremony at the Nad Al Sheba, Dubai on 29 November.
