The AR Awards for Emerging Architecture are entering their seventh cycle. Inaugurated in 1999, the awards are intended to bring wider international recognition to a talented generation of architects and designers under 45. Supported by Buro Happold, the international consulting engineers, it is the premier award for young architects in the world, and offers [pounds sterling]10 000 prize money and the opportunity to participate in an associated exhibition and lecture series at the RIBA in London. The 2005 jury will be: Sean Godsell (Melbourne, winner in 2002), Thom Mayne (Morphosis, LA, winner of 2005 Pritzker Prize), Luis Mansilla (Mansilla & Tunon, Madrid), Annette Gigon (Gigon/Guyer, Zurich), and Peter Davey (former editor of the AR). Paul Finch, the current editor, will chair the jury. Deadline for entries is 13 September. Entry fee is [pounds sterling]50 ([euro]75 or $100).
