Blogspats

Architectural Review, The, Feb, 2007 by Sutherland Lyall

Those blogsters are getting all luvvie. I see that UK blog, named (affectionately) bollocks to architecture, at http://b2architecture.blogspot.com is retracting its link to PartIV following that blog's takeover from the retiring Norman Blogster by one Luke Warm: 'I'm sorry Mr Luke Warm but you'll have to "earn your spurs" before I restore the link from this site'. If you think that sounded like a soundbite from a spat between dressers backstage just before the afternoon matinee then I can't disagree with you. And please, what are those barmy quotemarks about? If I were Luke Warm I'd be spitting nails and planning my revenge. Whatever, PartIV is at www.partiv.com and we'll watch for spurs developing. Magnanimously it still has a link to bollocks. Actually, bollocks is a fine and basic site, given from time to time it may be too patronising and cheap sniping. It snides at electronic Christmas cards from two practices but, hey, if you ever send cards in these hard-hearted days the examples sneered at by bollocks are as good as you will get anywhere. And certainly better than those bland cards from practices signed by all the staff, none of whom you know. Look for yourself at www.glancynicholls.com/christmas/ and www.sheppardrobson.com/seasons_greetings/seasons_greetingshtm. The former reminds me that the great resource unmined by architectural websites is sound. And no that doesn't mean dusting down your old Dylans and nailing them on to your home page.

Never mind the bollocks, Sutherland Lyall finds plenty more to tickle your fancy.
