Sherry Frankel honored by Kaplan Cancer Center

Sherry Frankel, president of Caran Properties, Inc. and vice president of AFA Asset Services, Inc., was honored at the Rita J. and Stanley H. Kaplan Cancer Center's 11th annual Marilyn Greenberg memorial golf and tennis outing.
Frankel was selected for her long time support and work on behalf of the Kaplan Cancer Center.
"it is very appropriate that we honor Sherry Frankel, who has been dedicated to and involved with our organization for many years," said Michael R. Stoler, the Center's chairman, founder, and event coordinator. "Sherry's exceptionally hard work and dedication have helped us to raise more than $4.5 million since the inception of the event 11 years ago."
The event raises money for the Kaplan Cancer Center's unrestricted cancer research. The Center is world renowned for its groundbreaking research and state-of-the-art treatment facilities.
Frankel has spent her entire career in real estate with AFA, a real estate -investment and asset management firm. In 1988, she founded Caran Properties, Inc., a residential, management, and brokerage firm specializing in managing properties for individual and institutional owners. This honor is the most recent of numerous awards Frankel has received. She has been the recipient of the Emma Lazarus Award, presented by the Associate Builders and Owners of Greater New York, Inc., for her contributions to the real estate industry and the New York business environment. She was also chosen by the as one of the Women Real Estate Leaders for the 21st Century by the Association of Real Estate Women.
Frankel is a board member of the Real Estate Board of New York, where she serves on the residential council, the board of directors of the Neighborhood Preservation Political Action Fund, and AREW, where she is chairperson of the AREW Charitable Fund. Frankel also serves on the executive committee of the National Jewish Center for Immunology and Respiratory Medicine, and is a volunteer for Women in Need.
