The Board of Directors of Salvadori Center, a not-for-profit organization that motivates middle-schoolers to learn math, science, the humanities and arts by weaving an understanding of the built environment into classroom lessons, elected Robert E. Selsam as president during its September meeting. Selsam, a member of the Board of Salvadori Center for three years, will assume the presidency in October.
Selsam is senior vice president and manager of the New York Office of Boston Properties, Inc. In this capacity, he oversees all the company's New York operations including development, acquisitions, leasing and management. Selsam is involved in many civic organizations, and serves as a Governor of the Real Estate Board of New York and Trustee of Phipps Houses, a major provider of low and moderate income housing in New York City.
Selsam has been with Boston Properties for 18 years, and previously served as Director of Planning for the Metropolitan Transit Authority. He also served in several positions at the New York City Planning Commission/Department of City Planning, including Director of the Transportation Division.
