IREM offering new associate membership
Real Estate Weekly, Oct 9, 2002
Edward H. Boudreau, CPM[R] and 2002 National President of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) announced that IREM has created a new associate membership in an effort to make the institute a more accessible organization.
The announcement was made during Boudreau's keynote address at the annual joint luncheon of IREM's New York and New Jersey Chapters. The luncheon was held at the Newark Club in Newark, N.J.
Commented Boudreau, "The associate membership will enable IREM to better serve the real estate management industry worldwide while maintaining the integrity of IREM and its credentials."
The associate program offers a form of membership that does not require affiliation with the National Association of Realtors [R]. Those eligible to become an associate member of IREM are site managers; asset managers; property managers; facility managers; and employees of property management companies, REIT, those who work in corporate real estate, managers of government or military housing and students interested in pursuing a career in property management.
There are many benefits to becoming an associate including a listing in IREM's on-line directory; access to IREM's members only section of the website, www.irem.org; a complimentary subscription to the Journal of Property management (JPM); all member communications, member discounts on meetings, conferences, courses, seminars, books and studies. Associate members are also granted access to the IREM affinity programs, national and regional networking opportunities and the jobs section of IREM's website.
