Residential builders Spectrum Skanska USA have announced that Angela Ferrara has joined the company as vice president and director of sales.
Ferrara, who has been in residential real estate for 15 years, was most recently vice president of marketing and sales for Sterling Equities, where she was responsible for a national marketing and sales effort for approximately 20 active properties.
While at Sterling, she led the sales team that marketed and sold New York City properties worth more than $200 million and was an integral part of the Sterling's Investment Fund that acquired more than $300 million in residential and commercial properties nationwide.
Ferrara received her B.S. in 1985 from New York University. She resides with her family in Stamford, Conn.
M. Chase Burritt, national director of Ernst & Young LLP's Hospitality Services Group, announced that Jeffrey T. Dallas has been named practice leader for the western region.
As practice leader, Dallas will lead the Hospitality Services Group initiatives from the firm's Los Angeles office.
Dallas has a reputation as one of the lodging industry's leading service advisors, with more than 15 years in the hospitality industry. As a member of Ernst & Young's Hospitality Services Group in New York, he provided a full complement of services for investors, property owners and developers, and lodging companies. His work includes strategic planning and valuation support for more than $500 million in hotel security transactions, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence services for transactions of more than $13 billion, and market and financial feasibility studies with respect to public/private structures, management and franchise options and negotiations, and capital structuring.
Dallas received his M.B.A. from Cornell University's Johnson Graduate School of Business and his B.S. degree from Cornell's School of Hotel Administration.
He is a member of the Cornell Hotel Society and the Real Estate Council. He lectures widely on industry trends, topics, and technical issues in the hospitality industry.
David Kuperberg, president of Cooper Square Realty, will be honored for his contributions to Community Access, an organization devoted to helping the homeless, at its annual gala Nov. 16, at The Puck Building at 295 Lafayette St.
More than 400 guests, drawn from the worlds of corporate real estate, the arts, and politics, will attend this year's event. It will be hosted by CA's honorary chairman, Jerome Belson, chairman and chief executive officer of Jerome Belson Associates.
The proceeds from the annual gala provide support for the organization's housing, advocacy, and employment programs.
Kuperberg, whose Cooper Square Realty manages properties totaling $1.5 billion in assets throughout the metropolitan area, has been an active supporter of CA for more than two decades. Last year he introduced "REinvest Success," a fundraising program through which real estate owners, developers, and managers contribute to CA.
Barbara E. Champoux has joined the law firm of Nixon Peabody LLP, as a partner and member of the real estate group in the New York City office. Champoux will continue to concentrate her practice in the areas of real estate and commercial transactions, structured finance and joint ventures, particularly focusing on clients in the leisure entertainment, hotel/resort, and theme park industries.
She was previously a partner with Baer Marks & Upham LLP.
Spencer International, Ltd., a retail and commercial real estate services company, announced the appointment of Lew Dorfman as director of business development.
Dorfman brings more than 25 years of sales expertise to Spencer International, in related industries such as office furniture and interior.
Micky Landis, vice president and regional manager of the Princeton Region for Boston Properties, Inc., reported the appointment of Edward D. Penn as regional counsel.
As regional counsel, Penn will be responsible for all legal and ethical matters for Boston Properties in the Princeton region.
He will be involved in leasing agreements, provide counsel on all real estate and business matters, monitor risk management and employment issues, supervise governmental compliance and approvals as well as all contractual matters including construction loans and financing.
Prior to joining Boston Properties, Penn was in private practice for five years.
He is a graduate of the University of Maryland and received his law degree from New York Law School.
Penn is a member of the New Jersey and American Bar Associations. He resides in Lawrenceville, N.J. with his wife and two children.
The husband-wife team of architect Stephen B. Jacobs and interior designer Andi Pepper has been chosen as a finalist in the 20th annual Gold Key Awards for design of the dramatic Penthouse Piano Suite for Hotel Giraffe, owned and operated by hotelier Henry Kallan.
Presented by the International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show and sponsored by Hospitality Design and Lodging magazines, the Gold Key Awards recognize excellence in hospitality design. Judges consider design creativity, aesthetic value, and commercial viability when making their decisions.
