Cushman announces deal to put TVs in elevators
Real Estate Weekly, Oct 18, 2000
Elevator News Network announced terms of an agreement with major global fully integrated commercial real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield, Inc. whereby C&W will be one of an exclusive group of real estate partners who will endorse the ENN system across the United States. Through their network of managers and real estate professionals C&W, in conjunction with ENN, will introduce and facilitate the installation of the ENN system in their clients buildings.
"ENN has a strong record of success in Canada, and has proven its information system to be both effective and reliable," stated Tom Falus, President of Cushman & Wakefield's Strategic Ventures Group. "Based on their track record, we believe the ENN system is a valuable tenant amenity and are proud to recommend the service to all our clients."
ENN has successfully installed its popular news network in the 17 passenger clevators at 11 West 42nd Street in Manhattan. This installation marks the first of several hundred more elevators that will go "live" within the next few months throughout the country in such prominent landmarks as The Empire State Building, Chrysler Center and Rockefeller Center. ENN now has agreements in place with real estate firms for installations in more than 4,000 elevators in the United States and approximately 5,500 elevators throughout North America.
"This agreement is an important milestone for ENN in the United States," explained Peter Irwin, President and CEO of ENN. "It represents an agreement with one of the acknowledged leaders in worldwide real estate and is a strong vote of confidence for our product. Cushman & Wakefield's endorsement will go far in helping us to build our U.S. business."
ENN, which developed the news broadcast system three years ago and installed the service in hundreds of elevators in Canada, has secured $30 million to help finance its explosive growth in the United States. The company has established its global headquarters in New York City, an office in Chicago and plans, to open offices in Dallas, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Houston before the end of the year.
