RE/MAX sees 9% jump in membership in 2002

Global franchisor RE/MAX International reports nearly a 9% increase in membership during the first eight months of 2002, already exceeding the total growth of 2001. Through August, 6,180 new members joined the RE/MAX network compared with 5,697 for all of 2001.

Franchise sales are also ahead of pace at 351 through August. Since 1998, RE/MAX has averaged 555 franchise sales per year with 1999 and 2000 the two leading years at 564 and 592 respectively. RE/MAX has also grown from being in 38 countries at end of year 2001 to a total of 41 today. In New York State the RE/MAX System has signed up over 250 new agents since January and has added five new franchise offices. RE! MAX of New York's total agent population will soon reach 1,300 in the state.
