Office market to be discussed Oct. 18

"The Future of the Manhattan Office Market" will be the subject of discussion and debate among real estate and government leaders at the Steven L. Newman Real Estate Institute's Autumn 2002 conference.
The breakfast/luncheon event will be held on Oct. 18 at. the William & Anita Newman Conference Center at Baruch College, 151 East 25th St., in Manhattan..
Among the guest speakers at the event are Andrew Alper, president of the New York City Economic Development Corporation, who will speak about "A Public Perspective: Fiscal Incentive Policies for New York City and State"; Steven Spinola, president of the Real Estate Board of New York, who's subject is "A Private Perspective: Industry Requirements for Building Manhattan Offices"; and Lloyd Lynford, president, Reis, Inc., who will discuss "Can Manhattan Compete: Office Supply and Demand in the Surrounding Metropolitan Region."
Other speakers include Michael Gallis, principal, Michael Gallis Associates; Henry Wollman, director, The Newman Real Estate Institute; Randy Anderson, professor, Baruch College; Hugh Kelly, professor, New York University Real Estate Institute; Joel Kotkin, senior fellow, Pepperdine University; William Wheaton, professor, The Massachusetts Institute of Technology; and Robert Paaswell, director, The City University of New York Institute for Urban Systems.
