REBNY Course
Oct. 3-Nov. 21 -- The Real Estate Board of New York will offer a 45-hour, broker-qualifying course on eight consecutive Thursdays. The course will cover such subjects as real estate finance, operation management, and taxes and assessments. The classes will take place at the Real Estate Board of New York, at 570 Lexington Ave. Members: $250 per person. Non-members: $350 per person. IREM Lunch
Oct. 16 -- The Greater New York Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) will host its monthly luncheon with a cocktail reception at 11:45 a.m. followed by lunch and keynote speaker Darcy Stacom, executive vice president and partner at GB Richard Ellis. Oct. 17 -- The New York Association of Realty Managers will hold the NYC 2002 Real Estate Expo at Pier 88 at West 48th St. An insurance seminar will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. with Danelists Zachary Berhau, of I.E.C. Consultants, Ltd; Steve Cangelosi, of Greater NY Insurance Co.; Michael Zeldes, of Kaye Insurance Associates Ltd; and Evan Katz, of Public Adjustment Bureau. Skyscraper Museum Event
Oct. 22 -- The Skyscraper Museum is sponsoring a symposium with the current and seven past chairpersons of the NYC Planning Commission on Downtown, Past and Post 9/11 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at 1 Chase Manhattan Plaza, auditorium, lower level. The panel includes current chairwoman Arnanda Burden, and past chairpersons Donald H. Elliott, John Zuccotti, Victor Marerro, Herb Sturz, Sylvia Deutsch, Richard L. Schaffer, and Joseph Rose. Federation Seminar
Oct. 23 -- The Federation of New York Housing Cooperatives and Condominiums (FNYHC) is sponsoring a seminar on how recent court decisions and legislation impacts the cooperative and condominium community at the Roosevelt Hotel, 45th Street and Madison Avenue in Manhattan, from 6- 9 p.m. Albert F. Pennisi, FNYHC president and senior partner at Pennisi Daniels & Norelli, LLP will moderate a stellar panel of experts including Stanley Dreyer, senior partner of the law firm Gallet Dreyer & Berkey LLP; Terry Lewis, vice president of National Cooperative Bank and Joel Miller, Esq. In addition, Martha E. Stark, Commissioner of the New York City Department of Finance has been invited to join the panel.
